Lady Wizards Basketball League & Training
2019 Spring Teams
The Wheatland Wizards Basketball Club is a Premier Competitive Regional Traveling Basketball Program of the Wheatland Athletic Association which is based in the Naperville/Aurora, Plainfield, and Oswego area. Coach Duncan Ward serves as the Director of the Wheatland Wizards Basketball Program.
The Wheatland Wizards Travel Basketball program objective is to DEVELOP basketball players mentally and physically. Our focus is through proper instruction to enhance participants basketball IQ, skill development, and provide appropriate competition.
Wizards Travel Basketball emphasizes: Man-to-man defense principles, full court, aggressive trapping defense, quick, transition offense & efficient spacing and floor balance offensively.
Practice begins the week of March 18th. Games begin April 6th through June 10th. Teams will have 2 practices per week and play in 8 weekend tournaments.
$20 Tryout Fee. $550 Player Fee. Uniform Fee is $120 (only if needed)
6/7/8 Grade – Sun. March 10th @ WAA Sports Center from 4:30-5:45pm
6/7/8 Grade – Fri. March 15th @ WAA Sports Center from 7-8pm- CANCELLED
Winter Season Program Information
Lady Wizards tryouts will be in August. Grade levels competing will be 4th-8th grade. There will be a minimum one team on each level. Skilled 3rd graders are encourage to come out if confident playing up a grade.
The Lady Wizards compete in the Neuqua Valley “Road to Success” girls league November-February. Wheatland’s own, Coach Dunc, provides the Lady Wizards participants skill development trainings monthly, September 2018 through February 2019.
The Lady Wizards program focuses on player development and implementing fundamentals in game settings learned through skill development trainings. PREPARATION & EXECUTION is key! Coach Dunc, along with Lady Wizards coaches ensure all are able and prepared to compete at their appropriate level.
The Lady Wizards 4th Grade team went undefeated and won the Romeoville One Day Shootout on Saturday, January 14th.
