The Wheatland Wizards Basketball Club is a Premier Competitive Regional Traveling Basketball Program of the Wheatland Athletic Association, based in the Naperville/Aurora area. Coach Duncan Ward serves as the Director of the Wheatland Wizards Basketball Program.

The Wheatland Wizards Travel Basketball program objective is to develop basketball players through proper instruction, skill development, and appropriate competition.  Our focus is to enhance each individual basketball IQ, skill level, and knowledge on how to play basketball.

Wizards Travel Basketball emphasizes: Man-to-man defense & help-side principles, full court, aggressive trapping defense, quick, transition offense & efficient floor spacing.

Tryout Schedule:
4th, 5th & 6th grade – Wed, Feb 28 from 7:30-8:30pm OR Fri, Mar 9 from 7-8:15pm
7th-8th grade – Fri, Mar 2 from 8-9:15pm OR Fri, Mar 9 from 8:15-9:30pm

Tryout Locations:
4th, 5th & 6th grade – Feb 28 – Fischer Aux Gym (1305 Long Grove Ave, Aurora)
4th, 5th & 6th grade – Mar 9 – WAA Sports Center (2323 Liberty St, Aurora)
7th-8th grade – both dates – WAA Sports Center (2323 Liberty Street, Aurora)

Tryout Fee (Players must be pre-registered to tryout): $20

Program Information

Lady Wizards tryouts will be in August.  Grade levels competing will be 4th-8th grade.  There will be a minimum one team on each level.  Skilled 3rd graders are encourage to come out if confident playing up a grade.

The Lady Wizards compete in the Neuqua Valley “Road to Success” girls league November-February.  Wheatland’s own, Coach Dunc, provides the Lady Wizards participants skill development trainings monthly, September 2017 through February 2018.

The Lady Wizards program focuses on player development and implementing fundamentals in game settings learned through skill development trainings. PREPARATION & EXECUTION is key! Coach Dunc, along with Lady Wizards coaches ensure all are able and prepared to compete at their appropriate level.

The Lady Wizards 4th Grade team went undefeated and won the Romeoville One Day Shootout on Saturday, January 14th.
