On Tuesday, October 27th, Governor Pritzker announced that Basketball was reclassified to the Higher Risk category in the State of Illinois Sports Safety Guidance.
What this means – We do not know how long basketball will stay in the Higher Risk category. This could be a temporary change. Sports in the Higher Risk category are allowed play at Level 1. Level 1 allows for no-contact practices and trainings only. All other sports guidance remains consistent.
WAA Wizards plan –
- The Wizards will continue to follow State of Illinois guidance and practice and train in a setting that is safe and in compliance with state regulations. All participants should continue to bring their own basketball, hand sanitizer, mask and follow all health guidelines for attendance.
- Tournaments will open for registration in 2021 and we look forward to all teams participating.
