Top level coaching

All Wizards teams are coached by Wizards trained basketball coaches, who are mentored by WAA Wizards Director, Coach Duncan Ward. Coach Dunc is committed to working with staff and players to continue to master the fundamentals of basketball and develop as a competitive player.
LEAGUE PLAY

All Wizards and Lady Wizards 3rd-8th grade fall/winter teams compete in the Dupage Youth Travel Basketball League. Games are typically played on weekends in local suburban gyms. Spring and Summer teams do not participate in a league.
TOURNAMENTS

All Wizards teams compete in local and regional tournaments; typically OneDay and TwoDay Shootout Tournaments. Tournaments are located in the Chicagoland area, including Wisconsin and Indiana.
Skill Training/Player Development

Wizards teams participate in weekly practices AND additional skills training sessions, focusing on specific aspects of the game of basketball. Skills training includes ball handling, form shooting, passing, movement without the basketball, defense man-to-man, pivoting, reading defenses, reading offenses, and stamina.
YEAR ROUND COMPETITION

Wizards teams compete throughout the year, in all seasons! Players can register and try-out for FALL/WINTER SESSION. SPRING SESSION, and SUMMER SESSION to stay in shape and competitive.
FACILITIES

Most practices and training from September through May will occur at local middle school wood competition gyms. The Wheatland Athletic Association owns and operates the WAA Sports Center, allowing the Wizards teams to practice year round.
